One of my favourite places on my trip, Conwy Castle looms at the end of the main street in the medieval walled town of Conwy in North Wales. The castle is well worth the price for admission and you feel like you should be defending something when you’re there, not just touring around.

Photographed from the wharf, the fortifications of Caernarvon Castle are best seen from across the bay down by the fishing docks.
