Turbulent skies boiled over the small town of Cowley, Alberta just before sunset on January 4. The wind was strong, but this photographer braved the elements to snap the sunset.

As the sun sinks down below the horizon, the well known windmills of the MD of Pincher Creek were silhouetted high on Cowley Ridge. The even more well known winds of Southern Alberta created folds in the sky.
