Photo a day, May 26, 2012 – Ancient Ruins of Phaselis

Founded in the 7th century B.C, Phaselis thrived as a Lycian port city. More concerned with their commerce and trade, the people who lived at Phaselis welcomed most new conquerers. For people looking for quiet ruins to explore, Phaselis is top of the list after Ephesus, as there are virtually no crowds and you can explore the ruins for as long as you want.
