Photo a day – February 6, 2012, Lindisfarne Castle

Outside Berwick-Upon-Tweed in Northern England, lies an island aptly called Holy Island. Crowning the top of the island is the beautiful Lindisfarne Castle. At the other end of the island, is the ruined 12th century prior. The causeway to Holy Island floods at high tide, trapping some visitors on the quaint island.

  1. I love Holy Island. I started my journalism career in that part of the world and the number of stories I’d do about people getting stranded because they’d tried to cross over when they weren’t supposed to was ridiculous!
